Setting Up Your Custom Domain Name
There are two ways to set up a custom domain such as www.example.com for your Flavors account.
Option 1: Purchase domain from Flavors.me
Purchase a custom domain name via Flavors in tandem with your $20 per year upgrade. To do this, click the box next to "Buy a domain" at http://flavors.me/account/upgrade.
A menu will then open on that page requesting the domain name you would like to use, your contact information, your domain registration username and password (which can be different from your Flavors credentials), and the option for private registration, which we recommend for your security.
The total cost of your yearly upgrade and domain purchase will update at the bottom of the page after you entered the desired domain name. To complete the transaction, click on your preferred method of payment, either PayPal, Amazon or Google Checkout. No further steps will be needed to get your domain up and running, though it may be up to 72 hours before the change is completed across all servers.

Option 2: Point existing domain to Flavors.me
If you have upgraded your Flavors account to the premium version and want to purchase a domain name elsewhere or use a domain name you already own, follow these directions (skipping #1 if you already own the domain):

Purchase the domain name from a registrar such as Me-Net, Register.com or iWantMyName. This can be done for about $10 per year.

Log in to your domain registrar and find the section that allows you to edit and/or create A Records. This is often done from a settings panel with a name such as “Edit DNS” or “Zone File Control.”

Create an A Record that points your domain to the Flavors.me IP address: 184.73.237.244. Enter "@" in the column labeled Host. If your registrar does not allow you to enter "@" create two A record entries, one for your domain name in the Host column (i.e. yourname.com) and another for "www." in the host column.

Enter the domain name on your Flavors.me Settings page and click the "Save changes" button. It will then take up to 72 hours for the change to fully take place.
Note: You do not need to change your domain's nameservers, only the A record. You also do not need to purchase any hosting services for the domain. If you have content in a subdirectory (i.e. www.example.com/blog), that content will not be accessible after pointing the domain to Flavors. We recommend that in that case you use a subdomain for Flavors instead (i.e. portfolio.example.com).
